Brian D. McLaren is a bestselling author, an internationally-acclaimed speaker, and spiritual leader in what Phyllis Tickle has called “The Great Emergence” – the green edge of the Christian faith emerging from modernity into a postmodern, postcolonial world. Named as a “paradigm shifter” and one of Time Magazine’s 25 most influential Evangelical Christians, Brian served for twenty-four years as a pastor in the Washington, DC, area before devoting himself to writing, speaking, and networking. He serves as Board Chair for Sojourners, was one of two guest plenary speakers invited to address the Lambeth Conference in 2008, is a frequent guest on radio and television programs, is an in-demand blogger on faith and public policy, and has authored or co-authored a dozen books.
