After graduating from Syracuse University, Rick worked on Madison Avenue as a Copywriter and Art Director at the advertising agency Young & Rubicam. Advertising merits for creativity include Addy and Andy awards. Leaving Manhattan, Rick earned his MDiv. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and has been on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ for over 20 years.
Ministry with Campus Crusade has included directing the campus and faculty ministries at Rutgers University, pioneering several dozen new campus ministries, and serving as Regional Director for collegiate ministries in the Mid-Atlantic.
Rick currently serves as Publisher of CruPress, the publishing arm of Campus Crusade, as well as adjunct to the Campus Ministry’s Research & Development team. He is a popular conference speaker and continues to speak evangelistically on campuses around the country. Rick has written, edited, and designed much of Campus Crusade’s discipleship and evangelistic material. He has written on several independent film projects and is the author of three books: Jesus Without Religion (IVP, 2007); Porn Nation (Moody, 2007); and Flesh: An Unbreakable Habit of Purity in a Pornographic World (CruPress, 2006). Rick lives with his wife, Katie, and their three children in West Chester, Pennsylvania. She’d like to see someone make a great film about Raoul Wallenberg, and would seriously consider writing the screenplay…and maybe write herself in for a bit part, too. (She’s probably too old to play the love interest. Unless Raoul is played by, like, Gerard Butler or Clive Owen or Jim Caviezel. Then she wouldn’t be too old, no matter what her age. But then her husband probably wouldn’t let her be in it.) Her character flaws include procrastination and getting angry when beaten at chess. (She hears John Huss, one of the forerunners of the Great Reformation, had the same problem.) Before she dies she’d like to visit Australia. Her favorite stand-up comic is Brian Regan. She is allergic to kiwifruit. |
